Nasrullah holds a press conference on the captured Israeli Colonel
Lebanon, Politics, 10/17/2000

The secretary general of the Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah has stressed on Monday that the Israeli col. Anhnan Ninin Bueim who works with the Israeli Mossad and who was recently captured by the Lebanese national resistance was arrested in Lebanon by the Lebanese national resistance, as he entered Lebanon on a forged foreign passport coming from Brussels.

In a press conference he held in Beirut on Monday, Nasrullah added that Israel's claims of kidnapping the said officer in a European state are lies because he came to Lebanon " on his own feet."

Nasrullah also stressed the right of the Lebanese resistance to capture this Israeli colonel on the Lebanese territories because it is still in a state of war with the Israeli enemy which still occupied Shebaa farms in South Lebanon, and holds Lebanese civilians in its prisons.

After Nasrullah explained the details of capturing the Israeli colonel in Lebanon he admitted he is a colonel in the Israeli army and that he is an agent for the Israeli intelligence ( Mossad).

Nasrullah stressed that the Lebanese resistance will not give up the prisoners as a result of the aggression Israel threatens to make, adding that the same stand is adopted by the Lebanese government, and the resistance does not fear the aggression.

He warned Israel against any aggression against Lebanon, adding that the time when Lebanon used to be considered a " weak point " has gone.

He explained that the capture of the Israeli colonel was made away from events in the region.

He said that negotiations on releasing the prisoners have not started yet even after conditions necessary for that were declared, noting that the case of the Israeli colonel is debated for exchanging with the release of the detainees in the Israeli jails.

He added that no information will be disclosed on the Israeli prisoners without releasing living detainees. He stressed that the resistance will continue to resist the continued Israeli aggression and in the struggle to release the detainees in the Israeli jails.

On exchanging the prisoners with Israel, Nasrullah said the exchange will be made under three titles " the prisoners are alive; the bodies of the martyrs, and unveiling the fate of the missing who took part in operations against Israel and their traces were lost."

On the German mediation, Nasrullah explained that " no contacts was made yet with the Germans, adding that no serious contact was also made with the French and what happened with them was a mere feeling the impulse."

Nasrullah waned Israel against attacking any person outside Lebanon. He said that if the Israelis want to open the battle in parts of the world " we are ready."

The BBC reported that the Israeli colonel was lured to Lebanon thinking he was about "to meet a senior Hezbollah contact who would enable him to penetrate and spy" on the Hezbollah organization.
