Another Palestinian killed, confrontations continues

One Palestinian youth was killed in al-Beera town in the West Bank from the serious wounds he suffered during confrontation with the Israeli occupation soldiers took place four days ago.

The director of Ramullah hospital Hosni Attari said that the Palestinian youth Raed Yaqoub Hamoudi ( 30 year old ) died on Sunday at Ramullah hospital after he was hit in a bullet in his head during al-Aqsa uprising during which 125 Palestinians were so far killed.

Meantime, a Palestinian car broke into a barrier for the Israeli occupation forces in Beit Elle to the north of Ramullah in the West Bank.

The Israeli radio said the Israeli military forces opened fire on the Palestinian car which tried to cross the Israeli barrier but it could not arrest the driver of the car.

Meanwhile, several Palestinians threw stones and explosives on the settlement quarters in Hebron while an Israeli on foot patrol was attacked by stones by the uprising youths in al-Aroub camp and Housan village in Bethlehem district in reply to the bullets of the Israeli soldiers who also used tear-gas bombs against the Palestinian demonstrators.

Thousands of Palestinians on Sunday demonstrated in the West Bank against the Sharm esh Sheikh meeting due to be held today and chanted slogans criticizing the meeting and calling on the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat not to take part in it.

Eye-witnesses said that confrontations took place between the demonstrators who staged the streets of Ramullah city and the Israeli soldiers at the entrance of the city.

In Bethlehem several demonstrations were stages in protest on Sharm esh Sheikh meeting. The demonstrations started immediately after the end of mass in the churches and the demonstrators chanted " no for Sharm esh Sheikh because Israel had killed children and the elderly."

The eye-witnesses also said that the demonstrators confronted Israeli soldiers positioned at the entrance of the city by stones and explosives and four demonstrators were wounded by Israeli rubber bullets.

Confrontations also took place to the west of Bethlehem where the demonstrators damaged an electricity generation station for the nearby Beittar Elite settlement.

The commander of the Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza strip brig. Benei Gans on Sunday stressed the continued military Israeli besiege imposed on the West Bank and Gaza strip.

In an interview with the Israeli radio on Sunday he added that his forces in the West Bank and Gaza strip were put in a state of alert for fear of anti- Israeli military acts.

However, the chairman of the operation department at the Israeli forces Gen. Ehuda Bakhar said that his forces were put in utmost alert against possible operations to be carried out by the Palestinian resistance against military targets in Israel.
