Caution against arrogance and aggression that spawn cycle of violence
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 10/14/2000

Egypt's Information Minister Safwat El-Sherif said arrogance and aggression could only exacerbate matters and spawn an endless cycle of violence.

Interviewed by Cairo Radio on Friday, Sherif tackled the continued Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people and the Middle East peace process in light of such developments.

Asked about a rise in the tone of war in the Middle East region, Sherif cited President Hosni Mubarak's warning against such rhetoric which clashed with both reality and logic.

Sherif spoke of the woes of war and their destruction of national economic and human resources.

"Egypt's stance is clear; there is no alternative to restoring Palestine to its rightful owners in accordance with the relevant agreements," Sherif said.
