Algeria bans demonstration by opposition parties in support of Palestinians

The Algerian interior ministry banned yesterday a demonstration by the opposition parties to support the Palestinians.

In a statement by the interior ministry said that the demonstration was banned for reasons related to the public system.

The statement which was broadcasted by the Algerian news agency did not have any reference to this event yet it only reminded that the public marches are prohibited for reasons related to the public system adding that meetings are allowed in closed places after getting the permission of the authorities.

The urging parties in support of this demonstration are Wafa and Adel movements (not yet authorized) under the chairmanship of former foreign minister Ahmed Taleb El-Ibrahimi, the national reform move under the chairmanship of Sheik Abdu Allah Gab Allah and the labor party (leftist) under the chairmanship of Luisa Hanoun.
