Israel's bombardment of Palestinian territories

Dani Yatoum, the advisor for the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak said late evening today that military operations against the Palestinians that Israel took in retaliation for the death of several soldiers have ended.

Since this afternoon, the Israeli helicopters struck the headquarters of the Palestinians government in Ramallah and Yatoum said that these strikes are mere "warning" to the Palestinian government. Most of news reports in the area said that 17 persons were wounded as a result of the attacks in both Gaza and Ramullah with only four of them are from the Palestinian police and the others are civilians.

Meantime, the Palestinian police released all Palestinian detainees including Hamas members who oppose the peace agreement with Israel.

To this effect, the Palestinian Liberation Movement, Fatah, led by Yasser Arafat has declared a state of alert.

On the other hand, the secretary of the Hizbullah party in Lebanon Nasrallah called on the Arab states to open the borders with Israel to enable all Arabs and Muslims to fight Israel. In an interview with al-Jazira TV, Nasrallah called for an urgent Arab summit and for cutting relations with Israel and the US.

On the other hand a statement undersigned by some 30 Muslim intellectuals (Arabs and non Arabs ) called on the Arab nation for " the general Islamic al-Nafir" ( preparedness for war) in which the statements urged for demonstrating against Israel and to offer donations for the Palestinians in the occupied lands, for continued uprising and for boycotting the American and Israeli goods.
