No return to Muslim Brothers to Syria without denouncing terrorism

The Syrians want their new leadership to take vast fundamental steps towards openness, pluralism and democracy, canceling the state of emergency and moving into a market economy. All this falls in the course of the list of globalization and revitalizing of its urban society.

Still the Syrians have almost forgotten that the Syrian president has not yet completed his three months in power and that there are many critical regional issues before him. These include the ME peace process, the conditions in Lebanon, developments in the region, especially the explosive conditions in Jerusalem, the future of Iraq following the crack in the sanctions imposed on it as well as preparations for the urgent Arab summit conference due to be held after several days.

The Syrian leadership was not upset by the statements made by the 99 Syrian intellectuals nor the statements' content and it was not annoyed by the move made by the member of the Syrian parliament and industrialist ( Riyadh Seif ) and his "civil society movement." The Syrian sources, however, regret that those and others want to jump on the first caravan in the train led for many years by President Bashar al-Assad.

The Syrian leadership also realizes that the volume of people's expectations is very great but all should know that the needed changes are not simple due and need effort and time due to the focus on resolving regional issues imposed by regional conditions first and internal conditions second following three or five decades.
