The U.N secretary general Kofi Annan convened with Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak and with the Palestinian president Yasser Arafat for the second time whom he met yesterday. The Palestinian president depicted his meeting with Annan of being very important and comes at a critical phase and it was agreed upon some points that will be implemented during the coming days. Go

The Monte Carlo radio correspondent in Washington said that the US President Bill Clinton on Sunday evening made a telephone call with President Bashar al-Assad and urged him to use his country's influence to convince the Hizbullah party to release the three Israeli soldiers held by this party. President Clinton also urged President al-Assad, according to the radio to contain the tension on the borders between Lebanon and Israel. Go

The Ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani on Sunday received a message from Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi. The students marches are still continous in Cairo schools and universities to denounce the Israeli aggression against the Palestiniand. News reports from the occupied Palestinian territories said that the Israeli government has asked children of Israeli diplomats in certain Arab states to immediately return back to Israel following the recent developments in the region and the angry demonstrations which took the streets towards the Israeli and American embassies in these capitals in the course of al-Aqsa uprising. The Moroccan Red Crescent has donated two fully-equipped ambulances to the Palestinian peer. Israeli sources announced yesterday finding the body of a Jewish settler near Napolis in West Bank. The sources said the body is for a relative of Joseph Lieberman, the democratic candidate for the U.S vice president, adding that the settler Helail Lieberman, 37 years old, died in the violence acts in the occupied lands.
