El-Baz: Arabs united with Palestinians
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 10/10/2000
"The upcoming Arab Summit will send the US and Israel the message that Arabs are united with Palestinians and demand that the Arab and Palestinian right is given equal treatment as Israel's," Presidential Political Advisor Osama El Baz said.
"The provocative actions and the shooting of Palestinians with live ammunition is not in Israel's short or long term interest," El-Baz told a group of Egyptian youths attending a conference on the October Victory.
"Also, talk over Israel's military might and superiority over the Arabs is not in the interest of Israel's regional security", he said.
"He referred to the latest public opinion poll that showed that 52 percent of the wounded Palestinians were under 16, meaning that Israel deliberately targeted innocent children," he added.
"Our aim now is to force Israel to deal with Palestinians and other Arabs with respect and justice, without dictating its terms, resolutions and policies on Arabs and Palestinians," he said.
