Negotiation begins with Hezbollah concerning the captured Israeli soldiers
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 10/10/2000

The negotiations concerning the three captured Israeli soldiers captured by the Lebanese Hezbollah in south Lebanon began and a Red Cross International committee conveyed a message from Israel to Hezbollah concerning the 3 captives.

Hezbollah demanded exchanging the Israeli soldiers with 19 prisoners from Hezbollah kept by Israel in its prison.

Henry Bonmez, the Red Cross representative convened with officials from Hezbollah to deliver them the message which he refused to reveal its content to journalists as well as refused to reveal the answer of Hezbollah to the message.

He said "there are current consultations," adding that the Red cross demanded to allow him to see the Israeli captives kept by Hezbollah to release them in return of prisoners from Hezbollah, from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
