Pharaohs Sorcerers in Louver
Egypt, History, 10/7/2000
Egyptomania is still increasing and spreading worldwide. This fondness of the Egyptian monuments has been embodied in a show of 250 monumental pieces in the Louver Museum, which was inaugurated recently and intended to continue to January, 8, 2001.
The pieces to be showed relate to sorcery practice and spells in ancient Egypt. Though many ancient Egyptian sorcery scripts start with sentences reading ìNo one is allowed to see or know these scriptsî the Louver show acts against these words.
In fact, the history of the Egyptian monuments and relevant discoveries are admired by the whole world. With every new discovery, the desire to disclose the secrets of these monuments increases.
Sorcery, or miracle, has always been linked with the pyramids, with their tops towards the stars. Since these pyramids are nothing but tombs, there was a strong belief that food, cloths, perfumes, jewelry and funeral furniture were put with the mummies of the kings and queens. However, many of these tombs were found empty even from their mummies, most famous of which is the tomb of King Cheops. This indicates that the treasures of the tomb were stolen or not yet discovered.
On the contrary, the tomb of king Tut Ankh Amen was found intact. That discovery was unprecedented in terms of the magnificent masterpiece funeral furniture. The discovery of that tomb was related to the effect of sorcery. Once they completed the discovery, the two discoverers died consecutively, the matter that made the whole world believe in the curse of the pharaohs.
Despite the discoveries of a lot of them, thousands of tombs of kings, queens, princes, princesses and ministers have not been yet discovered. Accordingly, thousands of marvels that will add to the magnificence of ancient Egypt are still buried under the Egyptian sands and waters.
