Palestine-Israel, Politics, 10/7/2000
Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian top negotiator said "the Israeli assaults are still creating a tension and escalation atmosphere despite of the exerted efforts to stop the assaults."
He accused the Israeli government of having organized work to assault the people to destroy the peace process and to drag the whole area to disorder that will destroy it.
He asked the U.S.A to interfere immediately to force the Israeli government to stop these assaults which struck the Arab, European and U.S efforts for peace adding that the situation is very serious and the area is passing through a great tension.
He said the Palestinian people will defend their right and home and will struggle for their independent country with its capital Jerusalem.
