French Jews protest against Chirac
Palestine-France, Politics, 10/7/2000
The higher Rabbi for the French Jews Youssef Satrick has asked for meeting with the French President Jacques Chirac to express Jewish protest against what he described the French stand which is biased in favor of the Palestinian side which the French president showed during the talks that took place in Paris on Thursday.
The Israeli radio said that this request came after the chairman of the political and security team at the divan of the Israeli prime minister Dani Yatoum and the Israeli negotiator with the Palestinians Jelaad Seir accused President Chirac that he had convinced the chairman of the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat not to sign an agreement with Israel and his persistence to form an international investigation committee.
An official spokesman at the French presidency denied these Israeli accusations and the spokesman added that France has worked in coordination with Washington during the past days in order to put an end to the acts of violence in the Palestinian territories.
