El-Mahdi will return to Sudan within 4 month
Sudan, Politics, 10/6/2000

The opposition Sudanese Umma party decided on the return of its leader El-Sadek El-Mahdi to Sudan and moving its activities to inside the country while keeping limited external offices for diplomatic and informational work.

The party froze its activity in the preparatory meeting urged on by the government and justified it by the government's lack of response to its demands.

Sarah Nakdallah, the spokeswoman of the party said in press declarations yesterday that the political bureau decided on El-Mahdi's return and convening discussion meeting with the opposition and in case of its failure, the return coincides with convening the general conference of the party on the coming January the 29th or with the anniversary of the country's independence in the new year.
