Al-Qaddafi tomorrow visits Syria and then Saudi Arabia
Syria-Libya, Politics, 10/6/2000
The Libyan embassy in Damascus said that President Muammar al-Qaddafi will visit Syria on Saturday in conclusion of his current visit to Jordan, where he was greatly welcomed. Al-Qaddafi announced that what is currently taking place in occupied Palestine embodies a continued "conflict. It is a conflict for existence rather than for borders."
A diplomatic source at the Libyan embassy said that Qaddafi will arrive in Damascus by land on Saturday from Amman.
The source explained that Qaddafi will meet with President Bashar al-Assad and several senior high ranking Syrian officials and will discuss with them means of developing Syrian- Libyan relations and the project he carries under the title "Arab- African alliance."
The Libyan leader started last week an Arab tour and he first arrived to Cairo and then headed by sea to Jordan and is expected to visit Damascus by land and after which he will visit Saudi Arabia in his first visit there since 20 years.
Meantime, an Arab diplomatic source said that al-Qaddafi might visit Syria on Saturday or Sunday.
