Al-Aqsa uprising: 76 Palestinians killed

Confrontation of the 8th day of al-Aqsa uprising continued on Thursday in various Palestinian areas and in the territories of 1948. The number of killed increased to 76 and the wounded to more than 1200 amid increased threats made by the Israeli leaders to escalate their oppressive measures especially today as prayers will be performed in al-Aqsa mosque and other Palestinian territories mosques.
The Israeli side admitted the increased number of wounded in the Israeli army and police and that one Israeli settler was killed in Jabal al-Zeitoun ( Olive mountain) in Jerusalem.
Palestinian stone and bottle throwers started very early stoning the occupation positions and their on foot patrol and the surrounding of the settlements. Confrontation started in Bethlehem, Hebron, Toulkarem, Ramullah,, near Bsaghout settlement, Qalqelya, Arbeil settlement, Auja village, Areiha district and open live ammunition bullets against the Jewish settlement quarters in Jerusalem, Gaza, Rafah and near the settlement of Natsareim, where the Israeli helicopters opened fire against Palestinian demonstrators and installations, resulted in more losses and casualties.
News reports said that ramullah hospital is unable to deal with the increased number of wounded Palestinians (by the Israeli bullets) especially in the head and chest.
Massive people's demonstrations were carried out in Jerusalem in protest of the massacres and the demonstrators headed for the US consulate chanting national slogans and condemning the US- backed Israeli policy.
In Khan Younis, the funeral of child Muhammad Abu Asi had become a people's demonstration and the same happened with the funeral of Ayman Deib al-Louj in Gaza.
In the territories of 1948, Palestinian stone throwers attacked an Israeli on foot patrol in Beer al-Sabaa area, on al-Gheyah- Arad road and in several areas of the Galilee, Wadi Arah, Nasera, kafer Manda and the area of " Malout Hergman" area.
The Palestinian government arrested 51 Palestinians from Jafa under the accusations of taking part in the uprising after the confrontation which resulted in wounding 24 Palestinians.
A court in Akka extended the detention of 7 Palestinians from Tamra village of the territories of 1948 at the accusation of taking part in the uprising.
Meantime, the chairman of the Jewish agency Flay Maridour has called on the government of Ehud Barak to take rapid measures in order to establish more settlements in the Galilee and al-Muthalith in the territories of 1948 as well as to increase Jewish density in these areas.
Meantime, Gen. Ehuda Fellik, the police commander in Israel said he will oppress the demonstrators strongly and that he has taken new measures to challenge today confrontation and to break into the Palestinian territories.
Israeli military source denounced that the Palestinian authority has released several Hamas detainees and described the measure as a green light to escalate confrontation against the Israelis.
The commander of what is called Jerusalem forces Yaeir Yitzhaki said that he " has tightened security measures and the siege to restrict the movement of men who will perform Friday's prayers especially those who will pray at al-Aqsa mosque."
