Mubarak reviews political situation in the region with Supreme Council of the Armed forces

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak at his meeting yesterday with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces said Egypt is prepared to host the Arab summit immediately so that Arab leaders may take the decisions deemed necessary on decisive issues.
The President said the Arab Foreign Ministers are called upon to meet for fixing a date for the convening of the Arab Summit and its agenda, according to Minister of Information Safwat Al Sherif.
Safwat El Sherif said President Mubarak has been clear and decisive in reiterating Egypt's readiness to host the summit at the date to be agreed upon by Arab leaders.
President Mubarak reviewed with members of the Supreme Council of the armed forces the political situation in the region.
The president explained Egypt's role in the peace process and its keenness to achieve a just and durable peace that maintains legitimate Arab rights.
During the meeting which was held on the anniversary of the October Victory, President Mubarak hailed the role of the armed forces in performing the tasks given to them in the various domains.
During the meeting, the President tackled the People Assembly's elections, reiterating his keenness on maintaing democracy. The President said electoral process should reflect Egypt's glory and its deeply rooted democracy.
During the meeting, President Mubarak ran a frank dialogue with the members of the Supreme Council.
Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of defense, welcomed the President saying the armed forces men are keen to meet the President on this glorious occasion.
He hailed the role played by President Mubarak in achieving the victory in October war. He said the armed forces men are prepared to maintain the achievements accomplished by Egypt.
