Moroccan plane flies assistance to the Palestinians
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 10/5/2000
A Moroccan plane took off Thursday from Rabat to Palestine with a relief cargo to the Palestinian people.
A team of six physicians and five nurses was also dispatched to give medicare to Palestinians injured in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces.
The emergency assistance was sent under the instructions of King Mohammed VI. A release by the Royal office termed the Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people as "regrettable" and "unjustified."
"While renewing its denunciation of the acts, Morocco intends by this assistance, to back the legitimate action of the Palestinian people in its struggle for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with Al-Quds Asharif as capital," the release said.
King Mohammed VI is chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, an offshoot of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, striving for the defense of the Arab and Islamic identity of the holy city.
