Jordanian King confers with al-Qaddafi

Talks between King Abdullah II of Jordan and the Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi started on Wednesday at al-Aqaba city on the Red sea coast, in a bilateral meeting during which the two leaders discussed current Arab conditions and the need of revitalizing joint Arab action and backing Arab solidarity.

The two sides condemned the unjustified acts of violence, and killing against the Palestinian people by the Israeli occupation forces since Friday.

They stressed their backing to the Palestinian people who seek to win back their legitimate rights in establishing their own independent state on their own native soil with Jerusalem as a capital.

The two sides also discussed practical steps to increase commercial exchange, strengthening economic relations and establishing joint investments between the two states so as to contribute to the march of development and strengthening joint Arab action as well as discussing al-Deisi water project which will be financed by Libya.

King Abdullah and President Qaddafi stressed their determination to develop bilateral relations between Jordan and Libya in all fields.

Earlier in the day, al-Qaddafi arrived in Amman leading a Libyan delegation in an official visit to Jordan which will last for three days. He was welcomed by the Jordanian King Abdullah II.

The delegation accompanying Qaddafi includes the secretary of the people's general committee Abdul salaam al-Tureiki, the assistant secretary general for the political affairs of the African unity Saeed Hafyanah and the director of African department at the people's general committee Ayad al-Tayari.
