Israeli government refuses an international investigation and Sahron denounces U.S criticism
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 10/4/2000
The Israeli government said yesterday it refuses to have any international investigation concerning the current violent confrontations in Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank.
The refusal came in a statement in the name of the Israeli prime minister Ihud Barak yet it did contain any justifications on that refusal.
On the other hand, head of the Israeli Likud party Ariel Sharon denounced the U.S criticism due to his visit to al-Aqsa mosque on last Thursday and said in a message to the U.S secretary of state Madeleine Albright that the remarks which refer to that his entry to al-Aqsa mosque exploded the bloody works are wrong and based on the defamation campaign made by the Palestinians.
