Egypt, Morocco are top recipient of foreign investments in north Africa

Morocco was the second largest recipient of foreign direct investments in 1999 in North Africa after Egypt, said the United Nations Conference on Trade And Development "UNCTAD" in a report made public Tuesday in Washington.
Foreign investments in Morocco totaled $ 847 million against $ 329 million in 1998. Egypt received $ 1.5 billion, while Tunisia comes in third with $ 368 million.
In Africa, Angola ranks first with $ 1.8 billion, followed by Egypt and Nigeria, which received $ 1.4 billion. South Africa got $ 1.3 billion.
