Initial consent to establish the Democratic National Party in Damascus

The secretary general of the democratic national party Karim al-Sheibani on Tuesday at the Arab Cultural center in al-Mazze delivered a lecture under the title " the Democratic Arab Federation." An event which is considered as the first open appearance for the party outside the framework of the " National Progressive Front," that has not licensed yet.

Al-Sheibani told the press that his party is coordinating with the leadership to convene its first national congress in Damascus while sources at the party noted that this party " won an initial consent for founding it."

He explained that his party calls for " social justice and transparency in the relations between the establishments and the parties and between the state and the society" and that " national unity is an issue in which citizens can be involved rather than watching from apart."

Worthy mentioning is that parties licensed in the country fall under the "National Progressive Front" and that the Syrian leadership is studying the release of a new parties laws.
