Moroccan food supplies plane lands in Baghdad, Tunisians to follow
Morocco-Iraq, Politics, 10/4/2000

A Moroccan plane landed on Tuesday at Baghdad's international airport following a one-week delay caused by the UN sanctions committee.

The chairman of the Moroccan national committee in support of the Iraqi people said that the said Moroccan plane is carrying food supplies and medicines as well as 30 parliamentarians and officials representing the Moroccan political parties.

He added that this initiative aims at strengthening the international rejection of the embargo imposed on Iraq since 1991.

In the same context, Tunisia has also decided to send a Tunisian airline plane to Baghdad loading a delegation of specialized doctors besides medical instruments and equipment.

The Tunis Africa for news Agency said on Tuesday that the UN sanctions committee was informed about this flight whose date was not fixed yet.

Permission was also asked from the countries in whose airspace this plane will fly.
