Moroccans to march in solidarity with Palestinians
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 10/3/2000

The Moroccan association for support to the Palestinian people will stage on Sunday a march to express backing to the Palestinian people against atrocities perpetrated of Israel.

The association says the march "will express the Moroccan people's solidarity for the brotherly people of Palestine and decry the massacres committed against it."

The march will start on Sunday morning from downtown Rabat.

Morocco decried in an official statement "the provocative and unacceptable act" that led to the painful events in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The events took place at a time the world looks forward with hope to the resumption of the peace negotiations, the Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation department said.

The Moroccan upper house also decried the Israeli aggressions.

Relatedly, King Mohammed VI gave instructions to send emergency relief assistance to the Palestinian government to help alleviate the Palestinians' sufferings.

People in Syria and Yemen also took to the streets to show solidarity with the Palestinians and denounce the Israeli atrocities.
