Egypt targets annual growth rate of 7%, savings to 21%

Egyptian Minister of Planning and International cooperation Ahmad Al Darsh said the coming stage will witness a rise in the rate of growth to 7 per cent a year, an increase in the volume of investments to 25 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the local savings to 20 per cent.
A1 Darsh made these statements yesterday following the inauguration of the Egyptian Economic Strategy 2000/2002 Conference.
He added that the government aims at introducing radical changes in the economy by increasing exports and investments.
