Mubarak, Gaddafi talks center on Arab, African issues

"The talks between President Hosni Mubarak and leader of Libyan Revolution Colonel Muammar Gaddafi on Monday is to discuss lifting the ten-year UN embargo imposed on Iraq," said a senior Libyan official Sunday.
Upon arrival at Cairo airport, Secretary of the Libyan Committee for African Unity Ali Abdul Salam Triki said the meeting comes within the framework of continued coordination between the two Arab leaders on the latest developments in the region and the world.
Meanwhile, Egypt's Foreign Minister Amr Moussa conferred late Sunday with Ali Abdul Salam Al-Triki.
Emerging from the meeting, Triki said the Egyptian-Libyan joint higher committee will meet in mid-October.
Gaddafi's projected visit to Egypt would address the ways and means of giving momentum to bilateral relations, he added.
"Gaddafi will begin a planned Arab tour by visiting Egypt holding talks with President Hosni Mubarak," said Triki.
Triki pointed out that Gaddafi's will visit a number of countries, ruling out Iraq as one of them.
On the Egyptian-Libyan mediation between Sudan and Uganda, the Libyan Minister said that
An Egyptian-Libyan-Ugandan panel will meet to outline' tasks of the observers.
He ruled out the existence of problems between Libya on one hand and Chad, Nigeria and Nigeria on the other, describing recent acts of sabotage as minor clashes with Nigerian nationals involved in drug trafficking.
"Libya will host on March 2 the extraordinary African Summit" said Triki.
Commenting on reports that Gaddafi's visit to Egypt be postponed, the Minister asserted that the visit will be at the date previously set.
