Iran, Iraq for improving bilateral relations

The London-based al-Hayat daily issued on Sunday said that the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami has agreed with the Iraqi vice- President Taha Yassin Ramadan during their meeting in Caracas - Venezuela on Friday following the conclusion of the OPEC summit that the Iranian foreign minister will visit Baghdad shortly to discuss means for improving relations between the two countries.
A well-informed source said that the meeting between Khatami and Ramadan concentrated on discussing the process of implementing the Iraqi- Iranian agreement signed in 1997, according to which five committees were formed to settle pending issues between the two countries.
