Mubarak to address nation on two occasions

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak will address the nation on October 5 on the anniversary of the October 1973 victory, and on October 17 on the eve of the People's Assembly elections. President Mubarak will lay wreaths on the memorial of the Unknown Soldier and the tombs of late leaders Anwar Al-Sadat and Gamal Abdul-Nasser in commemoration of the 27th anniversary of the Sixth of October victory.
Mubarak's address will be aired by television at 1000 (0800 GMT) on Channels one and two (accompanied by simultaneous interpretation in English) and on the Egyptian Space Channel and the International Nile Channel.
Minister of Information Safwat Al-Sherif said that Mubarak will make another address on October 17 on the eve of the People's Assembly elections (which begin on October 18 and will be carried out in three stages up to November 15).
Mubarak's address will be broadcast live on the radio and on the local television channels and the Space Channel and the International Nile Channel.
