Al-Hoss confers with Moratinos
Lebanon, Politics, 9/30/2000

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss on Friday discussed with the European Union ME peace process special envoy Miguel Morantinos conditions in the region and Lebanon.

During the meeting, al-Hoss stressed Lebanon's continued commitment to its national principles and to the right of the Palestinian refugees to return back and rejection of settling them on its territories. He called on the EU to pressure Israel to release the Lebanese detainees held in the Israeli jails.

Al-Hoss listened from Moratinos about latest contacts the EU is making to provide urgent aids to the NGO s conference currently held in Beirut and the contacts the EU also makes to resuming peace talks in the region.

Moratinos hoped that the donor states conference will be held as soon as possible due to the drastic needs of Lebanon and its south.
