Moroccan copyright office, business software alliance to cooperate in piracy control

The Moroccan copyright office (BMDA) and the US Business Software Alliance (BSA) agreed on Thursday to cooperate in promoting awareness among Moroccan judiciary and customs authorities on the protection of literary and artistic copyright against piracy and counterfeiting.

Under the agreement, BSA will help Morocco get new technologies used in protecting literary and artistic copyright. The two sides also agreed to coordinate efforts geared to combating all forms of law breaches and piracy by conducting joint investigation operations on cases of illegal reproduction, counterfeiting and piracy.

The BSA vice-chairman, Jordanian Nasser Khssawneh, the agreement comes to increase cooperation with software developers, promote public awareness on software protection means and enforce the copyright law.
