Hawatemah in Moscow

Leader of the Russian Communist party Genadi Zeganov announced during his meeting on Thursday with the secretary general of the democratic front for the liberation of Palestine Nayef Hawatemah currently visiting Moscow, on top of a delegation representing the front that Russia can and should carry out a more effective role in settling the current conflict taking place in the Middle East.

Zeganov added " the situation in Russia is changing and it seems that there is a chance to modify its foreign relations towards strengthening its relations with the traditional friends in the Arab world, also."

Hawatemah, for his part stressed the desire of the Palestinian side to have Russia playing a greater role in the ME peace process and the current negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
