Some 500 businesswomen in Cartage 2000 conference

Activities of the 48th World conference "Cartage 200" will start in Tunis on October 2nd through 7th under the title " Women; owners of world establishments in the new Millennium ." It will be convened with the participation of some 500 women who are owners of economic, trade, industrial, agricultural and cultural establishments.

This conference, however, is considered one of the important economic demonstration in Tunisia as business women constitutes a higher rate among workers in the economic sectors.

The conference's program includes several activities. It will be opened by an intervention by the Tunisian minister of information Ahmad Farea and other interventions by " Isabelle Maxwell (USA), Marta Terk ( Slovenia ) and D. Bavan ( France).

Under the title " environment is a need or an obstacle" for competition for small and intermediate enterprises, the Tunisian minister of the Environment Fayeza al-Kafi will deliver a lecture.

However, latest statistics in Tunisia indicates that there are some 4,000 business women who have already joined the sectors of production and services.
