Maghreban agricultural policy updating meeting winds up
Maghreb, Agriculture, 9/28/2000
The meeting on updating of references in agricultural policies of the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) states wound up in Rabat Wednesday.
The meeting attended by experts from member countries and the UN food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) monitored progress achieved in coordinating agricultural policies and adapting them to the region alimentary needs.
A release of UMA secretariat-general said participants probed a food-security regional project introduced by FAO meant to secure self-reliance in the Maghreb.
UMA was set up in 1989 by Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Mauritania.
