Lahlimi meets world bank officials in Prague

Minister of social economy, medium and small enterprise (SME) and handicraft, in charge of government's general affairs, Ahmed Lahlimi conferred in Prague with the World Bank (WB) president James Wolfensohn and the vice-presidents in charge of the Middle-East and North-African region and the private sector development.

Talks, in side-meetings to the annual meetings of the WB and IMF, centered on economic and financial evolution in Morocco and prospects for further development of cooperation ties between the WB and the Kingdom, says a department press- release.

Both sides voiced readiness to carry on the good work geared towards lasting growth and struggle against poverty.

The WB said it backed government policy in favor of SME which create wealth and jobs and pledged financial resources and technical expertise to help organize funding of SME.

Development priorities in the Moroccan five year program will be discussed, alongside cooperation modalities, during the coming visit to the Kingdom of the WB vice-president Jean Louis Sarbib, said the release. (MAP)KL/
