Palestinians: U.S. insists on making progress in peace process
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 9/28/2000
Zakaraia al-Agha, member of the executive committee for the Palestinian Liberation Organization, said "the consultations which are taking place between us and the U.S.A comprise all the raised issues which are Jerusalem, land, borders, refugees, water and security as well as all issues of the final solution." He added this issues are the issues of consultation currently taking place among the Palestinians, the Israelis and U.S.A."
He said "we feel that U.S.A insists on achieving a progress in the peace process yet the problem is that it wants it on the Palestinians' account and not on Israel's."
He said that Israel is replying to the Palestinian flexibility and U.S pressure with a greater obstinacy imagining that the Palestinian leadership will surrender to these pressures. He added "but our people will judge anyone betraying the Palestinian cause and this leadership will defend the interests of the people and will endure in confronting any pressure."
