Sudanese opposition welcomes Merghany Bashir meeting

The Sudanese opposition welcomed the meeting between Sudanese President Omar El-Bashir and head of the opposition democratic national alliance Mohammed Ossman El-Merghany which took place in Asmara saying that this assures that the two sides are convinced of the need for peace and stability in Sudan and that it will not be achieved except with a comprehensive peaceful settlement and not by military means.
Salah Jalal, the director of the opposition Umma party, said that "the party welcomes the meeting and that it is in line with the instructions of the Umma party and its efforts for a comprehensive political solution which emphasize the necessity of the serious work for the national agenda to end the war and to achieve democratic change through a political agreement."
Jalal also urged on the quickness of convening the preliminary meeting which leads to the collective national conference to recognize the principles of the full political solution to be the practical framework for the peaceful initiatives especially the joint initiative which gathers all the parties to face their national duties.
