Morocco, Kuwait poised to set up joint commission
Morocco-Kuwait, Politics, 9/27/2000
Morocco and Kuwait are poised to set up a high joint commission to foster and extend their economic and commercial cooperation, Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa, announced on Tuesday.
The two states want the commission to be set up at the highest governmental level, Benaissa told a delegation from the Moroccan-Kuwaiti parliamentary friendship group.
The minister hoped bilateral cooperation will be hoisted to high level and in all fields. Meetings of this kind translate the existence of a firm will on the part of decision-makers and legislators to consolidate cooperation between the two Arab nations, he added.
He also underlined that the Moroccan and Kuwaiti parliaments can play a key role in this connection.
The Kuwaiti delegation, led by MP Ahmed Yacoub Baqir, also conferred Tuesday with members of the foreign affairs and national defense committee at the Moroccan parliament.
