Portuguese president gets message from King Mohammed
Morocco-Egypt-Portugal, Politics, 9/27/2000

Moroccan premier, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, said he transmitted during his trip to Portugal a message from King Mohammed VI to Portuguese president, Jorge Sampaio who also entrusted him with a message to the sovereign.

Youssoufi, who took part in Lisbon in the 13th international encounter "Men and Religions," told MAP office in Lisbon his meeting with the Portuguese president was useful to review Moroccan-Portuguese relations, adding Morocco appreciates Portugal's positive role in preparations for last May Africa-Europe conference held in Cairo and its chairmanship of the European Union.

The two men also talked about a projected visit to Portugal by the king, the meeting of the joint commission and other cooperation issues between Morocco and Portugal and Morocco and the European Union.
