Yemeni president to discuss in Cairo embarrassment to Arab states of not breaking Iraqi sanctions first
Iraq-Egypt, Politics, 9/27/2000
The Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh is due to arrive in Cairo by the end of the current month coming from France following his meeting with the French President Jack Chirac.
Yemeni diplomatic sources told Arabic News that "the Yemeni president will convene a bilateral summit with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to discuss the peace process development, the position on the Palestinian track and the Israel obstinacy before the peace track."
The sources added that the two presidents will discuss the Arab states' current status, the developments in the Gulf area and discussing the comprehensive Arab summit called for by the Egyptian president by the end of the current year, saying that the meeting will also tackle the imposed sanctions on Iraq and its effect on the Iraqi civilians as well as the air trips made by the western countries which embarrassed the Arab states before their people," because they did not take the initiative to break the embargo" and waiting for Russia and France to do it first.
