Bulgaria asks the help of the Arab states to get a seat in the Security Council

Ivan Christoph, the Bulgaria prime minister, asked Arab League secretary general Esmat Abd El-Maguid for the help of the Arab states so that Bulgaria gets a seat of a non-permenant member at the UN Security Council body.
Following his meeting with Abd El-Maguid he said "Bulgaria wants to open a new page of the cooperation and good relations with the Arab countries" and he discussed many of the current Arab causes.
For his part, Abd El-Maguid said in answering a question concerning the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers which will be convened in October to participate in it to ratify the agreement on a periodic Arab summit, Abd El-Maguid said "this meeting is an important step to acheive the aim of a periodic summit."
