Kuwait officially protests allegation of Iraqi oil theft

Kuwait officially protested at the Arab league against Iraq and its latest threats which it said threatens Kuwait and the gulf states.

Esmat Abd El-Maguid, the league's secretary general, received the protest message from Seliman Magid El-Shahim, the State minister for the foreign affairs, that shows the Kuwaiti stance toward the Iraqi threats and its "strong abuse to Kuwait."

Abd El-Al-Kanaei, the Kuwaiti delegate at the league, said following his meeting with Abd El-Maguid yesterday that he delivered a protest message that shows his country's stance toward the Iraqi accusations and allegations.

The Kuwaiti message negated all the Iraqi allegations and El-Kenaei said "these accusations are not new for it bring us back to the atmospheres of before August 1990 and what Iraq did, as well as the days before the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait in which it addressed the same accusation that Kuwait stole the Iraqi petroleum."

Meanwhile, the Arab League's general trusteeship summoned the Iraqi charge d'affairs ambassador Moayed El Molah who assured following the meeting that he received the Kuwaiti protest message and that he will deliver it to Mohammed Saeed El Sahaf the Iraqi foreign minister.

El Molah supported the Kuwaiti propsal of forming an International committee to discuss Iraq's allegation of Kuwait's theft to its petroleum saying "we support any proposal that brings back the rights to its owners."
