Syria-Iran, Politics, 9/26/2000

The first Iranian vice President Hassan Habibi has stressed Iran's desire to develop and strengthen the existing relations between Syria and Iran and continued bilateral cooperation on the regional and international arenas.

During his meeting on Monday with Syria's ambassador in Tehran, Ahmad al-Hassan, the Iranian vice- President added that Iran's leadership, people and government has all appreciation and respect to the late Syrian President Hafez al-Assad.

He also stressed Iran's great care to develop its relations with Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
