Oman, Economics, 9/26/2000
Oman's minister of commerce Maqboul Bin Ali Sultan said that his country will join the world Trade Organization WTO on October 10th during the WTO's meeting which will be held in Geneva.
He added that Oman has completed all necessary measures to join WTO and only the last phase was left which is the organization's official approval of Oman to join its membership.
The Omani minister asked small and family companies to merge in order to overcome great obstacles at the international level, noting that the world is proceeding towards big blocs while small entities will face difficulties in withstanding competition.
