Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, arrived Monday in Jorf Lasfar, an industrial port located at 220 km south of Rabat. The king is to dedicate several industrial units and will launch other development in the area. Jorf Lasfar is the largest industrial port in Africa. A report released by the Ministry of Economy said Egypt's rate of growth in 99/2000 raised to 6.5 percent against 6 percent in 98/99. "The contribution of the private sector in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) hit 73.1 percent; the rate of unemployment dropped to 7.4 percent against 7.9 percent in 98/99 whereas the rate of inflation declined to 2.5 percent till last June," the Report said.
