Moroccan woman gets international science prize

Mrs Amina Berrahou Hammani, head of the ophtalmology department and professor at the Rabat Ibn Sina University hospital, will be awarded Tuesday in New York the "Fatima Al Fihrya Oum Albanin Prize" by the International women scientist Union. The union president, Princess Nisrin Alhachimi, told the Moroccan TV channel RTM that the bearing of the international prize of a Muslim and Moroccan woman's name is a tribute to Arabs and Muslims and recognition of the key role played by Muslim women in development throughout history.
Outstanding international figures will be attending tomorrow's ceremony, she said paying homage to the Kingdom's support to the union.
