Al-Assad is due to visit Cairo soon

Bashar al-Assad of Syria is due to head soon to Cairo in a 2-day visit which is the first since his assumption to the power.
Syrian sources said "the visit comes in absolute coordination between Egypt and Syria concerning the peace process and the bilateral relations and discussing the invitation of the Egyptian President Mubarak for convening a comprehensive Arab summit by the end of the current year.
The issue of giving back the Syrian Golan height which has been occupied by Israel since 1967 forms the main obstacle confronting the success of the halted Israeli - Syrian peace negotiations since January of the current year.
