Arab labor unions decide on organizing air trips to Baghdad
Iraq, Politics, 9/25/2000

The International union for the Arab labor unions decided on organizing an air trip carrying many Arabs to the Iraqi Saddam Hussein Internationa Airport. They will also bring large quantities of food and medicine to ease the suffering of the Iraqi people.

Damascus formally denounced yesterday what it called the U.S and U.K practices against Iraq.

Sabri Badr, the deputy secretary general and information secretary in the union said this decision is correct as is the Syrian stance and "our decision was taken by the union for that our goal is to break the air embargo."

He added "we decided to make contact and the campaign is in its beginning with Arab or international air lines companies to organize air trip carrying leaders of the union movement and the rest of the public union organizations because we will allow the Arab unions such as lawyers, students, youths, writers and journalists to participate with us."
