Iraqi opposition faction refuses discussion with Washington to topple Hussein
Iraq-USA, Politics, 9/23/2000

The supreme council for the Islamic revolution in Iraq - one of the Iraqi opposition factions - assured the non existence of any discussion or agreement between it and the U.S administration to topple the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

Mohammed Bakr El-Hakim, head of the council said that he urges toppling the Iraqi government yet he does not cooperate with the U.S.A concerning this matter for there is a big difference between the U.S stances and the council's toward the Iraqi problem.

He referred to that cooperation with the U.S.A will make the Iraqi people loose confidence in the council.
