Jordan: Demonstrations for unemployed university graduates
Jordan, Economics, 9/21/2000
Jordan witnessed clashes and demonstrations by members of vocational unions as the anti riot police prevented the demonstrators from heading to the cabinet to protest for their demands.
This is considered the fourth march during few weeks. Some demonstrators managed to reach the prime minister's bureau with their cars and they convened with the deputy prime minister yet they did not get a solution for the problem of the unemployment of university graduates.
The university graduates say that the 20 Jordanian universities close their doors before them when they are employing some 900 lecturers from Arab and foreign countries.
