Sudanese president ready to meet with Garang

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir has stressed that he is ready to meet with the leader of the rebellions in the South John Garang in any place, with the aim to save blood and establish peace in the country.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Anbaa issued on Wednesday, President al-Bashir added " he will positively respond to any sincere effort to establish peace in Sudan, noting that Garang had for several times broke his promise to meet several African presidents who are careful to maintain peace in Sudan.

The Sudanese President, on the other hand, met with the Sudanese President who was due to head on Wednesday for Nairobi to hold a round of negotiations with the rebellions forces today ( Thursday).

The chairman of the delegation Ahmad Ibrahim al-Taher said that President al-Bashir urged members of the delegation to work in order to achieve peace and stability in Sudan and that he is exerting all his efforts with other sides to achieve this very objective.

He added that the delegation is fully authorized by the government to reach an agreement, according to basics and principles approved by IGAD's committee on negotiations.
