Egypt: Jerusalem; Palestinian-Israeli agreement
Egypt, Politics, 9/20/2000
Egypt's Foreign minister Amr Moussa said all agreements on Jerusalem should be Palestinian-Israeli deals.
The Palestinian government, after the proclamation of Palestinian State, should exercise sovereignty on Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Moussa said in statements to the press yesterday.
Egypt champions any proposals ensuring Palestinian sovereignty on sanctities in Jerusalem, Moussa said, noting that the Israeli proposals on Jerusalem, during Camp David negotiations, were disapproved by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat as they contradict with the international legitimacy under UN resolution.
